Dear Members and Supporters of the Iowa School Counselor Association,
As your new president, I am honored and excited to embark on this journey with you! Our collective commitment to the success and well-being of our students is the cornerstone of our profession, and together, we have the power to make a significant impact. Over the past years, we have faced unprecedented challenges and have risen to meet them with resilience and innovation. As we look ahead, I encourage each of you to join me, and our ISCA board, in a renewed call to action. Let’s continue to advocate for our students, support their diverse needs while supporting each other in this work, and champion the vital role of school counselors in education.
Our goals this year will focus on:
- Strengthening Advocacy
We will work to ensure that the voices of school counselors are heard at all levels from local communities to state policy discussions. Your experiences and insights are invaluable in shaping policies and practices that benefit our students. - Member Engagement through Professional Development
We are committed to providing you with opportunities for growth and learning! We have an incredible conference planned for you Rooted in Resilience. Look forward to more opportunities through the Statewide School Counselor Network and beyond. All designed to enhance your skills knowledge and address current issues and trends in school counseling. - Collaboration and Community
Building stronger connections within our association will enable us to share resources support one another and foster a sense of community. We will strengthen our platforms for regular communication and networking among members.
By focusing on these goals, ISCA can maintain its sustainability, enhance organization, and build a strong sense of community and collaboration among its members. I invite each of you to take an active role in our association! Whether through participating in events, joining committees, or simply sharing your stories - your involvement is crucial to our collective success. Together we can continue to inspire, guide, and advocate for our students, ensuring that they have the support and resources they need to thrive.
