ISCA believes that all students deserve to be respected and treated with dignity, and to learn in physically and emotionally safe, inclusive, and healthy school environments free from any forms of violence or discrimination. School counselors ensure equitable access to counseling programs that promote holistic development and support students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. This includes providing critical information on postsecondary options and enhancing self-development and affirmation within students' group identities. Students' privacy is honored to the greatest extent possible, balanced with the best interests of students, safety concerns, and legal obligations.
