Write Your Legacy
ISCA Annual Conference | November 1-3, 2026 | Prairie Meadows, Altoona, Iowa
As ISCA returns to Prairie Meadows, we’re excited to gather once again to learn, connect, and elevate the work of school counselors across our state. Building on more than six decades of impact, we continue to evolve our conference to reflect the innovation, advocacy, and comprehensive practices shaping our profession today.
We invite school counselors, counselor educators, and aligned partners to submit proposals that center practical, data-informed strategies and strengthen the voice of school counseling in Iowa. This year, we are especially interested in sessions that connect to shared statewide priorities, including:
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- RAMP and implementation of the ASCA National Model
- 504 processes and training
- District Career and Academic Plan (DCAP)
- Advocacy and leadership
- Counselor wellness and self-care
- Student mental health and supports
Session Types
“Promising Practices” Breakout Sessions (60 minutes). Designed for practicing school counselors and nonprofit partners, these counselor-led sessions highlight effective strategies, field-tested tools, and data-driven approaches that support comprehensive school counseling programs. Sessions should include practical takeaways participants can implement in their schools.
“Partner Spotlight” Sessions (60 minutes). Featured partners share curated tools, resources, or curriculum aligned with the ASCA National Model and the work of school counselors. Sessions are reviewed for relevance and quality. A partnership investment or agreement applies.
“Research & Results” Gallery (Poster Sessions). A visual and interactive space highlighting innovative programs, research, and data-informed initiatives that advance school counseling practice. Presenters will provide poster designs featuring evidence-based practices and/or research outcomes, accompanied by handouts or digital resources for attendees to access.
Submit Your Proposal
We are proud to uplift the voices of professional school counselors and our advocates across Iowa. Whether you’re leading a breakout session, presenting a poster, or representing a sponsoring organization, we invite you to contribute to a conference that supports learning, connection, and growth for our profession.
The conference committee is actively reviewing proposals on a rolling basis — there is still time to submit one. Presenters who plan to attend the ISCA conference outside of their session still need to register. Sessions will be announced in August 2026, so please submit your proposal as soon as possible.
