2026 On Track Events

ICAN's annual On Track series, presented in partnership with ISCA, kicked off the school year with two virtual sessions for Iowa school counselors. Missed one? Catch up below with the recording and presentation slides from each session.

New School Counselor & Graduate Student Virtual Bootcamp

This session provided a step-by-step guide for school counselors new to the profession, as well as graduate students in school counseling programs. Participants explored the school counselor's role in career and college readiness and received an overview of resources, tools, and strategies to support students across all grade levels, K–12, along with practical guidance for building and implementing a comprehensive career and college readiness program.

School Counselor Virtual Summit

ICAN and a panel of representatives from colleges and universities across Iowa joined for a dynamic virtual session for school counselors, featuring updates on career and college advising trends, strategies, and best practices, along with an introduction to new tools and resources to support student success. The session concluded with an interactive panel discussion featuring higher education professionals and live Q&A.
