Andrew Eisenman
Interim Executive Director
I’m a graduate of UNI’s counseling program and now have the privilege of teaching future school counselors there. I coordinate practicum placements and work with site supervisors across Iowa, and I’m finishing my PhD. My research focuses on school counselor professional identity: burnout, role ambiguity, and what helps counselors feel clear and confident about what they do. That’s a large part of why I serve ISCA. The association is one of the few places where counselors from every corner of the state can find training, advocacy, and each other. Outside of work, I’m learning to play golf, which has been humbling. I read, and I make BBQ. My rule is that if it can go in the oven, it can go on the smoker.
