Lacey Cherniss

Lacey Cherniss is the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator for Des Moines Public Schools. She previously served as a K–12 Counseling and Career Education Teacher Leader and middle school counselor, where she spent 12 years as a middle school counselor. Lacey is passionate about strengthening school counseling programs and systems, building educator capacity, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to develop the skills they need to thrive. She is honored to serve on the Iowa School Counselor Association Board and advocate for the profession and the students and counselors it serves.
