I was drawn to school counseling because I saw the power of having a caring adult who believes in a child, especially when life outside of school makes things harder. Over the years, I’ve learned that school counseling is about more than individual student support. It’s about building relationships, removing barriers, strengthening systems,​ and creating better outcomes for every student.

I’m excited to serve as ISCA Conference Chair and help bring our 2026 conference, Write Your Legacy, to life. Returning to Prairie Meadows and creating an engaging, meaningful experience for school counselors across Iowa feels like an exciting new chapter for ISCA.

I wanted to serve ISCA because I love bringing school counselors together to learn, connect, encourage one another,​ and advocate for the work we do. Our work matters, and our collective impact is greater when we do it together.
